Ahmed Musa Confronts Brown Ideye as Kano Pillars Host Enyimba in NPFL Zobia Classico.

Ahmed Musa and Brown Ideye are set to face off today in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) as Kano Pillars host Enyimba FC, according to Sports247. This week 14 rescheduled match will take place at the Sanni Abacha Stadium in Kano, with a 3 pm kickoff time.

Super Eagles Legends Clash

Both Musa and Ideye were part of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. Since their sensational return to the NPFL, both players have been key figures for their respective teams. Ahmed Musa has netted five crucial goals for Kano Pillars this season, along with several assists since joining at the start of the season. Meanwhile, Brown Ideye has scored two goals for Enyimba, contributing to their recent victories since he joined the team in December 2024.

Teams Strive for Three Points

Today’s match is crucial as both teams look to climb the NPFL standings. Kano Pillars are currently in 9th position with 25 points from 18 matches, while Enyimba sits in 7th place with 27 points from 17 matches and two games in hand. Enyimba will be eager to secure valuable points on the home front after their recent 1-3 loss to Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup in Cairo.

Coach Eguma’s Determination

Enyimba’s Coach Stanley Eguma emphasized the importance of securing three points after their disappointing performance in the CAF Confederation Cup. “We are coming back to the NPFL after our dismal performance in the CAF Confederation Cup. I think the boys have now shifted their focus to the NPFL. We are ready for the encounter, and I believe we have to give our all in the game to ensure we pick points and improve our fortunes in the league,” Eguma told Enyimba media.

Previous Encounter

This will be the first meeting between Enyimba and Kano Pillars since the Aba Elephants’ 5-0 victory over Kano Pillars in April 2024, which paved the way for their 2023/2024 NPFL title win.
