Manchester United Set Antony Price Tag, Prioritise Rashford and Sancho Sales Ahead of Summer Overhaul.
Manchester United are preparing for a busy summer transfer window, with the club reportedly setting a transfer fee for winger Antony while prioritising the sales of Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Jadon Sancho. The Red Devils are determined to raise funds to support a major squad overhaul ahead of the 2025–26 season.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United’s management has placed these three high-profile players at the top of the club’s outgoing transfer list. This decision follows a disappointing 2024–25 campaign, which has left the club needing fresh investment and strategic reinforcements across the squad.
Transfer Budget Constraints
New manager Ruben Amorim is believed to be working with a modest summer transfer budget of under £100 million. A significant portion of that is already earmarked for the expected signings of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. To finance further reinforcements, Manchester United must offload players, with Rashford, Antony, and Sancho viewed as key to unlocking financial flexibility.
Antony’s Future: £32.5m Price Tag Set
Brazilian winger Antony, who has rediscovered form during his loan spell at Real Betis, is now available for a transfer fee of £32.5 million. The 25-year-old has impressed in La Liga, contributing eight goals and five assists in 24 appearances. However, it remains unclear whether Betis can afford the deal after missing out on qualification for the 2025–26 UEFA Champions League.
Rashford’s Uncertain Future at Aston Villa
Marcus Rashford, who joined Aston Villa on loan in January, could be sold permanently for £40 million. During his brief spell under Unai Emery, the England international has made 17 appearances, scoring four goals and providing six assists. Despite the successful stint, Villa have not yet decided whether to exercise their option, and reports suggest Barcelona are also monitoring the 27-year-old’s situation.

Rashford, a Manchester United academy graduate, has amassed 138 goals and 77 assists in 426 appearances for the club. However, with United keen to restructure the squad, his exit seems increasingly likely.
Jadon Sancho: Chelsea Exit Likely, Future Uncertain
Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho’s loan spell at Chelsea includes an obligation to buy for £25 million. However, the Blues may reportedly pay a £5 million penalty to cancel the deal. Even if he returns to Old Trafford, sources indicate that the England winger does not feature in United’s long-term plans.
Interest is reportedly growing from Bayer Leverkusen and Turkish giants Fenerbahce, with the 25-year-old contributing four goals and 10 assists in 39 appearances this season.
Additional Departures Expected
The summer clear-out won’t stop with those three. Veteran players Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelöf are set to leave the club as free agents when their contracts expire in June. Jonny Evans is expected to retire after an injury-plagued season, although goalkeeper Tom Heaton may extend his stay with a new deal.
Tyrell Malacia, currently on loan at PSV Eindhoven, is also deemed surplus to requirements and could be sold.
Surprisingly, several other first-team stars, including Andre Onana, Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Højlund, are reportedly available for transfer at the right price.
Additionally, club captain Bruno Fernandes has offered to leave this summer, with Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal leading the race for his signature.
Final Fixture of the Season
Manchester United will wrap up their underwhelming 2024–25 campaign with a high-stakes Premier League clash at Old Trafford against Aston Villa, who are chasing Champions League qualification.
