Former Besiktas Coach Labels Victor Osimhen A Cheat

Victor Osimhen Resumes Training with Galatasaray Ahead of Potential Debut Against Caykur Rizespor

The former Besiktas Player and Manager Sergen Yalçın has labelled Victor Osimhen as a cheat in Turkish Super Lig.

Victor Osimhen might as well have a cheat code for the Turkish Super Lig, according to former Beşiktaş star and manager, Sergen Yalçın, who has heaped praises on the Nigerian as “the best striker” in the League.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli this summer and has made an immediate impact with 4 goals and 4 assists in just 7 appearances.

Yalçın, who led Beşiktaş to a Süper Lig title in the 2020/21 season, shared his admiration for the Nigerian forward during an interview with Ekol TV.

He highlighted Osimhen’s aggressive style, ability to win duels, and his all-round contribution to the team’s gameplay.

“Galatasaray has Osimhen, and he is undoubtedly the best centre-forward in Turkey,” Yalçın remarked.

“Other clubs don’t have the quality in attack. The centre-forwards are very weak. Can they receive the balls like Osimhen?

“The guy is aggressive, he gets into duels and wins. Immobile is not like that. He may be a good goal scorer but he is not in the team game.”

Yalçın also commented on the challenges other clubs face in matching Galatasaray’s firepower.

“You give 18 million to En-Nesyri, but you cannot say, ‘This money will be given, he will save this team, he will score many goals,’ but you say this for Osimhen,” he added.

Reports have linked Galatasaray with “serious” considerations to retain Osimhen beyond the January transfer window.

However, the club faces stiff competition as top European teams are eyeing the in-form striker for a potential move during the winter transfer window.
