Rising Nigerian Star, Ahmad Ghali Breaks Silence on Transfer Rumors Linking Him to Coventry City, Ipswich Town, and AC Monza.
Slovan Liberec’s midfield maestro, Ahmad Ghali, has addressed ongoing transfer rumors connecting him to English clubs Coventry City and Ipswich Town, as well as Serie A outfit AC Monza. The 24-year-old Nigerian, currently excelling in the Czech first division, has caught the attention of top-tier managers, including Frank Lampard and Kieran McKenna, as reported by Soccerbaba.com.
Reports indicate that the former Nigeria U-20 international has become a sought-after prospect, with several clubs eager to secure his services. Ghali has already proven his worth this season, registering two goals and four assists for Slovan Liberec. Despite the growing speculation, Ghali insists his primary focus remains on helping his current team succeed.
Ghali’s Response to the Transfer Links
Speaking exclusively to Soccerbaba.com, Ghali addressed the rumors:
“To be honest, I saw the news like you, and my agent saw it as well. But the thing is, the discussion is not on me; it’s on my agents. I don’t like to get involved in transfer stories. My focus is on helping my team until the end of the season, and then my agents will handle everything regarding the transfers.”
While the Nigerian star remains grounded, he acknowledges the growing interest in his talents. Clubs both within and outside the Czech league are monitoring his progress, and Ghali dreams of playing in Europe’s elite competitions.
“A lot [of interested clubs] in the Czech league and outside,” he shared. “[I’d like] to be in the top five leagues in the world like Spain, England, Italy, Germany, and France.”

Journey from Grassroots to European Football
Born in Kano, Nigeria, Ahmad Ghali’s journey to professional football is a testament to perseverance and hard work. Reflecting on his rise, Ghali described himself as a humble individual driven by determination.
“Ahmad Ghali is just a normal and humble guy who started his career from the grassroots,” he said. “I’ve worked hard from the beginning, never giving up, with the goal of being among the best African footballers. In life, everything is possible if you really work hard for it.”
Ghali’s journey began at AS Trencin, where he honed his skills before moving to Slovan Liberec. He credits his experience at Trencin and guidance from fellow Nigerian footballer Kingsley Madu as pivotal moments in his career.
“It was a really good experience, and I learned a lot as both a player and a person. I spoke with Kingsley Madu, and he gave me lots of advice,” Ghali recalled.
Interest from Top Managers and Clubs
Frank Lampard’s Coventry City and Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich Town have reportedly expressed interest in Ghali, competing against Italian side AC Monza for the midfielder’s signature. His ability to control the midfield, create goal-scoring opportunities, and contribute defensively has made him a standout player in the Czech league.
Aspiring for Europe’s Elite Leagues
Ghali’s ambition to play in one of Europe’s top five leagues—Spain, England, Italy, Germany, or France—serves as a driving force behind his performances. Despite the allure of high-profile transfers, he remains focused on his current team’s goals.

Ghali’s Vision and Work Ethic
As a versatile midfielder, Ghali is known for his ability to dictate play, deliver key passes, and maintain a high work rate throughout matches. These attributes have not only made him indispensable for Slovan Liberec but also attracted international attention.
Beyond football, Ghali’s humility and grounded nature set him apart. His commitment to improving himself and his team reflects his strong values and work ethic.

As the January transfer window approaches, speculation surrounding Ahmad Ghali’s future continues to intensify. While his focus remains on Slovan Liberec, the prospect of playing under renowned managers like Lampard or McKenna, or competing in Serie A with AC Monza, could mark the next chapter in his career.
