Lagos FA Ratifies LSFCA Dismissal at Extraordinary Congress

The Lagos State Football Association (Lagos FA) held an extraordinary congress on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at its Surulere Secretariat, where it confirmed the dismissal of the Lagos State Football Coaches Association (LSFCA) from the Lagos State Congress. This decision, made unanimously by the 14 Congress members, was based on allegations of gross misconduct, insubordination, and violations of the amended statutes of the Lagos FA. The Congress emphasized that the LSFCA remains a key stakeholder in football development within the state, particularly in areas like coaching programs and education, but it no longer holds voting rights or representation in the State Congress.

Vice-Chairman Adedotun Coker, representing the Lagos FA Chairman, reaffirmed the association’s dedication to advancing football in Lagos and assured stakeholders of continued support for the growth of the game. Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, represented by Director of Sports Development Olumide Travih, commended the Lagos FA’s leadership under Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed for their efforts in youth empowerment and football development.
