Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has provided the latest fitness update on his squad ahead of the Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
After a 3-0 win over Palermo in their final pre-season friendly, City travel to Molineux with a few injury concerns.
Rodri’s Progress
Rodri, who suffered a significant knee injury last season, has been making progress after picking up a new injury at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Guardiola revealed that Rodri might not reach peak form until after the international break in September.
However, the midfielder will travel with the squad and could feature in the match against Wolves.
Foden and Rodri are available, but we need to manage their minutes carefully, Guardiola said.
Rodri’s knee needs to be perfect, and we’ll decide on his playing time tomorrow.
Foden Returns, While Gvardiol and Kovacic Sidelined
Phil Foden will also be part of the matchday squad after missing the Palermo game with an ankle knock.

Unfortunately, Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic will not be fit for the Wolves match, with Kovacic still recovering from Achilles surgery.
Savinho and Ederson Out for Several Weeks
Savinho, who suffered an unspecified injury against Palermo, will be out for “a few weeks.”
Goalkeeper Ederson, linked with moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Galatasaray, will also miss the match.
This could pave the way for summer signing James Trafford to make his Manchester City debut.
Expected Lineup
With several players sidelined, Guardiola will look to other summer recruits, including Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, and Rayan Ait-Nouri, to make an impact on Saturday.
Teenage attacker Claudio Echeverri and summer signing Sverre Nypan are not expected to feature in the match.
Manchester City’s Premier League campaign gets underway on Saturday as they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
With injuries to manage and new recruits to integrate, Guardiola will be keen to get his team off to a winning start.
